Playing Hockey in the Region, One skate at a time
This article was the start of the series and encapsulated the passion and drive for the series moving forward. Hockey is a sought out sport that isn’t as prevalent in the Region, but it is in the surrounding states such as Michigan and Illinois. However, the Region has hockey programs and hockey teams in the school setting, and Northwest Indiana (NWI) has a lot to offer for aspiring hockey players so they do not have to travel to different states to compete.

High School Bowling teams all across Northwest Indiana are on a roll
Bowling in NWI is a hot commodity, especially in the high school environment. The students in the high school scene compete in the Indiana High School Bowling Conference Lakeshore, in which coed teens work alongside each other and compete to go to State as the end all be all.

Girls Wrestling continues to fight onward in NWI
Girls Wrestling in the Region is an up-and-coming sport that started in 2017, but the real craze for it started in the Region last year. Ladies from Lake Central High School, Griffith Wrestling Club, Valparaiso High School, Crown Point High School, Illiana Christian High School, and many more competed against women across Northwest Indiana and in southern Indiana.

Gymnastics takes every victory with resilience as they take over the Region
Sports all across the Region continue to blossom and grow into something incredible, and gymnastics is one of those sports that continues to succeed. Teams like Valparaiso High School, Crown Point High School, Lake Central High School, Portage High School, New Prairie High School, La Porte High School, Merrillville High School, and many more achieved great success this season with crazy numbers. This quote-heavy piece was needed to show the achievements of these ladies' very successful season as a squad. Boys Volleyball sets the stage for others all across the state and beyond
Boys Volleyball in NWI is an up-and-coming sport that started here in late 2022. These teams compete in a league called the Indiana Boys Volleyball Coaches Association (IBVCA). This piece explains the sport itself as well as teams that ranked well in the statistics department. Teams like Hebron High School, Boone Grove High School and Valparaiso High School are among those that have ranked high in the standings along with great records all across the board.

Lacrosse has become increasingly popular among high school students in Northwest Indiana (NWI), with the region embracing the sport's tradition and excitement. Lacrosse is a dynamic game that combines athleticism, skill, and strategy, originating from Native American tribes and now played worldwide. Recognizing its unique appeal, schools in NWI have established dedicated lacrosse programs, allowing more students to participate in a challenging team-based activity. Both boys and girls teams or clubs exist, providing training and opportunities for growth from a young age.
