Porter-Starke Services has been at the forefront of behavioral healthcare since 1975. Over the years, changes have happened all around us; in the community, in the field of mental and behavioral health, and in the way we all think about and increasingly appreciate the importance of mental wellness in our daily lives.

Adapting to these changes has been both a challenge and an opportunity for our organization to evolve. Porter-Starke Services has added locations, changed programs and partnered with other organizations to improve access to mental and behavioral health services and enhance the overall level of care. In doing so, all of these changes perfectly illustrate the one aspect of the organization that will never change: it's commitment and dedication to the individuals the organization serves and the community around us.

Matthew Burden, Ph.D. President/CEO Matt organizes and plans for the long-term vision of the organization and oversees all day-to-day operations. Prior to his position as President/CEO of Porter-Starke Services, Matt served as Chief Executive Officer at the Swanson Center for 8 years. Matt holds an M.A. and Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology from Loyola University Chicago and has held academic and research/faculty positions at University of Michigan and Wayne State University School of Medicine’s Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences. Porter-Starke Celebrates 35 Years at Movies in the Park

Thirty-five years later and numerous families and individuals who have been helped through their services, Porter-Starke Services celebrates its 35th anniversary at Movies in the Park on Tuesday, July 14, 2010. Oddly enough, the same year Porter-Starke opened was when the first ever summer "blockbuster" movie, Jaws, showed all over movie theatres in America. So the Spielberg classic was shown to a couple hundred Valpo residents who relaxed amidst a beautiful evening sunset.

On Tuesday, June 22, 2010, Porter-Starke Services held a ribbon cutting event in partnership with the Portage Chamber of Commerce in celebration of their new Portage facility. President and CEO of Porter-Starke Services, Rocco Schiralli, said, "I think the opening of this building symbolizes many things. One thing is our commitment to the community of Portage."
