Webinar: Ped, Pedal and Paddling in NW Indiana

nirpc-ped-paddle-peddleThroughout the United States, a renewed appreciation of non-motorized travel has spread through the land. Northwest Indiana represents on the best examples of the popularity of bicycling, walking and paddling. Over the last 20-years, the “Region” has seen an explosion of new trail miles, and other facilities helping residents and visitors alike gain a new appreciation of the oldest, and cleanest forms of transportation.

At the forefront of the planning for these facilities is the Northwestern Indiana Regional Planning Commission, or NIRPC, who has worked with all municipalities and advocates alike on expanding the non-motorized network through funding and educational avenues.

This webinar will focus on the planning and development of regional non-motorized networks, and an overview of the multi-use trails in place today, and in the near future.

Who should attend this webinar: Elected officials; health professionals; bicycle, walking and paddling enthusiasts; and anyone else with an appreciation reducing our dependency on the automobile, and to engage in healthier lifestyles.
