A little research goes a long way, and Levin Tire & Service Center manager Tim Stanage can attest to that. After learning more about Levin Tire, reading positive reviews online, and experiencing its authenticity, Stanage decided to make the career switch, where he is now the store manager of the Valparaiso location.
“After coming from another company and switching things up, I wanted to make sure I could go somewhere that had some roots in the area,” he said.
Currently a Crown Point resident, Stanage wanted to explore more of the Region. In the past month of this new position, he has been able to familiarize himself with Valparaiso. One of his latest goals is to get to know local residents better and grow his customer base, which is a goal he hopes to expand on.
“It’s new here for me, so my goals now are obviously going to be different than my goals are going to be six or eight months down the road.”
In addition to residents, Stanage is also focusing his attention on his staff: getting to know them on a work and personal level to, in turn, help them reach their own goals. Creating an inviting atmosphere for employees to enjoy with proper training is an important aspect in his plan.
“If I have a crew that loves what they’re doing and loves coming to work, that’s going to make them want to take care of our customers at a higher level,” he said.
According to Stanage, Levin Tire stands out among other tire service centers in the area because of the trustworthiness they share with their customers. By teaching customers more about their individual maintenance issues, Stanage says the service at Levin Tire is something he has never seen before.
“A lot of times you get told what’s wrong, not shown what’s wrong,” he said. “We show customers exactly what we’re seeing.”
When he is not assisting customers or working with his staff, Stanage spends time with his family, including his four daughters and wife of 22 years. Fishing is also a hobby he enjoys, which is his perfect combo.
“Those are definitely my two favorite things,” Stanage said. “Family and fishing!”
With over 20 years in the tire industry, Stanage wants to grow the Levin Tire & Service Center name.
“I have a lot to learn, and I’m excited. Excited about my future as well as Levin Tire’s future.”
