Southlake Auto Mall’s Last Cruise Night of Season Goes Out With a Bang

Since 1998, Southlake Auto Mall has been striving for a reputation of honesty, integrity, and great customer service. Cruise night is just one of the many things the car dealership does to accomplish this goal.

Tonight was the last Cruise Night of the season, much to the dismay of local car fanatics. Beginning this summer, Southlake Kia has been drawing hundreds to their parking lot twice-monthly. With nights hosting over 150 cars and even more eager spectators, the show has repeatedly been a success. From 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, weather permitting, spectators are able to enjoy many different cars while enjoying free hot dogs, popcorn, and drinks as well. A variety of vendors also make appearances, selling various sandwiches and soups.

Jerry McGarr, owner of Pro Auto Service and a 79’ Z-28 Camaro, said, “I’ve always been into cars all my life  and I’ve been coming to these shows for a couple years now. The burnouts are great.”

Those in attendance have certainly grown accustomed to the sound of screeching tires and the smell of burnt rubber. As the main attraction of the night, the cars with the most horsepower line up to do burnouts, putting on an entertaining, and extremely loud, show.

“The show is very casual, individuals from the region and various car and truck clubs come out to show off their cars. There is no judging or prizes awarded, just lots of great people coming out talking about what they love!” said Tony Ivanovic, general sales manager.

To top it off, raffles for free oil changes and transmission and coolant services occur each show, making it nearly impossible to muster up an excuse for not attending.

John Rosaschi, owner of a  2012 Corvette Grand Sport, brought his grandson to the show. “This is my fourth time coming to the show this year. It’s a great time seeing all the cars and burnouts and Southlake does a great job putting it on.”

With an image of excellence and a stellar reputation, it’s no wonder Southlake’s employees have only positive things to say.

“This show is a great way to get people together. We’re not looking for money. We just want everyone to come out and have a great time,” said Sean Rhea, who has been working for Southlake for just over a year. “This being the last night of the season, we’re excited to see great weather give everyone an opportunity to let loose and enjoy themselves.”

Sean continued, “Working at Southlake, the atmosphere is great. Everyone is a car guy. We have a lot of fun and we aren’t like any normal car dealership.”

Michael Nevarro, two and a half year employee, said, “As employees of Southlake, we like to have a lot of fun and the car show is a great way to do it. It brings a huge number of people out and it’s a great time.”

As a thirteen year employee of Southlake Auto Mall, Earl Nymeyer explained, “We’re really striving to be a family style store and I would say we accomplish that.”

Matthew Wolwin, who started working for Southlake this summer because of his love for cars, said, “Our customer service definitely sets us apart.”

Rafael Cartagena Jr, two year employee, said, “We are a family oriented business. We like to take care of our customers. Cruise night gives everyone an opportunity to see some cool cars as well.”

Randy Kiwanna, eleven year employee, said, “The clients and customers make working at Southlake so enjoyable and we, in turn, give them a car show with a lot of heavy muscle.”
