Spring break is right around the corner and the South Shore Line (SSL) is expanding its Kids Ride Free program to include all trains March 22 – April 12, 2025. SSL has selected this promotional time frame to cover a large portion of scheduled spring breaks across the four-county area.
The Kids Ride Free Program allows up to 3 children 13 years of age and under to ride free with a paying adult on off-peak and weekend trains. However, in an effort to help families enjoy spring break, the program will be available on all trains during the promotion.
“We’re thrilled to expand our Kids Ride Free promotion so that families can make the most of their spring break without the added expense of travel,” said Amber Kettring, Manager of Customer Service and Communications. “Whether it’s a day in downtown Chicago, a visit to the Indiana Dunes, or a trip to South Bend, we want to make it easy for families to explore and create memories together.”
This spring break promotion is part of the SSL’s ongoing efforts to provide affordable, convenient, and family-friendly transportation. The South Shore Line is a commuter rail line operated by the Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District (NICTD) between Millennium Station in downtown Chicago and the South Bend International Airport in South Bend, Indiana.
