On November 7th, OE Runners traveled to Indianapolis to compete in the 2015 Indianapolis Monumental Marathon, Half Marathon, and 5K Race. The Indy Monumental Marathon enjoyed record participation, and the OE Runners Team celebrated its 17th season with nearly 100 runners. Thanks to OE’s fundraisers and sponsors, the team raised more than $80,000 for individuals with disabilities. This year’s generous sponsors include:
Indiana Beverage
Urschel Laboratories
Athletico Physical Therapy
The Times Media Company
Centier Bank
Delta Faucet Company
Meridian Title
Midwest Telecom of America, Inc.
“Every year, I watch with pride as our runners put themselves to the test,” says Ellen DeMartinis, CEO of Opportunity Enterprises. “Their discipline and dedication are exceptional and their efforts truly make a difference for our clients.”
The OE Runners Team spends several weeks conditioning with their three trainers, Ed Burns, Michele Hale, and George Nietert. The dedicated trainers collaborate with OE staff and volunteers to prepare runners for the distinct challenge of running a race through guidance, education, and support.
The team had a great experience in a new city on a new course. For those interested in learning more about the OE Running Team, please contact PR-Events Specialist Natalie Krivas at (219) 464-9621, ext. 239, or natalie.krivas@oppent.org.
