NIRPC Public Comment Period Extended for I-65 Expansion, Cline Avenue Bridge, and SR 49 Amendments

End date for public comment period for I-65 Expansion, Cline Avenue Bridge, and SR 49 Amendments has been extended to March 21, 2014

NirpcGBLogocopyAmendments have been proposed to add the expansion of I-65 from US 231 to SR 2 and the new Cline Avenue Bridge to NIRPC’s 2040 Comprehensive Regional Plan (CRP), the 2014-2017 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP), and a new Air Quality Conformity Analysis. A proposed amendment to change the State Road 49 project in the 2040 CRP back to its original scope will also be part of this public comment period. These items, subject to at least 30 days of public comment, will now be available for comment until March 21, 2014.

The comments received will be responded to and included in a public comment report. Following the end of the comment period, the report will be distributed to NIRPC’s Transportation Policy Committee (TPC) and Full Commission. Action is anticipated on these items at the TPC’s meeting on April 8, 2014 and the Full Commission’s meeting on April 17, 2014.
