Learning & More @ the Library Mon.-Sat., March 2-31 All Day All month long enjoy early literacy activities, along with crafts and more for all ages. It's always fun @ the library.

Story Hour for 4s & 5s Tuesdays, March 3 & 17 10:30 a.m. Or 1 p.m. 4 and 5 year old children will hear stories and participate in music activities, rhymes, crafts, and other activities with emphasis on early pre-reading skills.

'Paws' itively Reading Fun Wednesday, March 4 5 p.m. Children of all ages can read to licensed therapy dogs and participate in reading activities, games, and crafts. Preschoolers must be accompanied by an adult.

LEGO Mania Thursday, March 5 4:30 p.m. Children through grade 6 will make and display their own LEGO creations made with library LEGO bricks. All supplies and snacks provided. Preschool children must be accompanied by an adult.

S.T.E.A.M. Fridays! Fridays, March 6-27 All Day Using Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math, children will enjoy experimenting, designing, building, computing, and crafting. This moth explore and celebrate March: Dr. Seuss & the Lorax balls, March Madness, and the first day of Spring.

Mother Goose on the Loose Fridays, March 6 & 20 10:30 a.m. Babies and toddlers, birth to 36 months of age, will participate in stories, nursery rhymes, finger plays, and music activities designed to enhance pre-literacy skills.

Toddler Time Thursdays, March 12 & 26 10:30 a.m. Or 1 p.m. Toddlers, 2 and 3 years of age accompanied by a caregiver, will participate in stories, finger plays, music activities, crafts, and more. Activities will help develop pre-literacy skills.

Spring Fling – Science, Stories & More Monday, March 30 6:30 p.m. Celebrate spring with stories, games, and music – and explore the science of wind and kites as you make your own kite to fly.

Block Party Tuesday, March 31 10:30 a.m. Children can enjoy free play with blocks of all sizes. Parents will have fun interacting with their children while learning how to help them develop a variety of skills through block play. Five stations are set up, each with a different set of blocks that aids the children in learning a specific skill in this class offered by the Purdue Extension Agency for families with children 8 months to 8 years of age.

Craft Table for Children Mon.-Fri., Mar.2-31 All Day Children of all ages are welcome to make a fun craft at the craft table during library open hours.

Kid's Art Club Tuesday, March 3 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 25 10:30 a.m. Children in 2nd through 6th grades will learn to draw and paint in this monthly program where registration is a must.

Dynamite DUPLOs Wednesday, March 4 10:30 a.m. Young children, 2 to 5 years of age accompanied by a caregiver, will perform simple patterning and building activities with DUPLO blocks.

Book Bingo Wednesday, March 4 5:30 p.m. Children of all ages are invited to play Bingo to win books.

LEGO Club Thursday, March 5 6:30 p.m. Children in kindergarten through grade 6 will use their creativity to build unique projects with the library's LEGO bricks.

Mother Goose on the Loose Mondays, March 9 & 16 10:30 a.m. Or Tuesdays, March 10 & 17 10:30 a.m. Mother Goose on the Loose is a 30 minute, interactive nursery rhyme class for infants and toddlers, 6 to 23 months of age accompanied by a caregiver. It includes rhymes, stories, music, and movement.

Story Hour for 4s & 5s Mondays, March 9 & 16 1:30 p.m. Or Tuesdays, March 10 & 17 1:30 p.m. Preschool age children, 4 and 5 years of age, will enjoy stories, songs, activities, a short film, and a craft.

Story Time for 2s & 3s Wednesdays, March 11 & 18 10:15 a.m., or 11:15 a.m., or 1:30 p.m. Young children, 2 and 3 years of age accompanied by a caregiver, will enjoy stories, songs, activities, and a craft.

Power Paws for Kids Saturday, March 21 11 a.m. Children of all ages will have the opportunity to read a library book to one of the registered Delta Society Pet Partner dogs (accompanied by their trainers). Registration is not required.

Peeps! Tuesday, March 31 6:30 p.m. Children in kindergarten through grade 5 will have a great time with Peeps at the library. Participants will make a Peeps snack, do a Peeps experiment, and make a Peeps craft.

Kids' Art Club Monday, March 2 6 p.m. Kids will create a fun project and learn something new about art.

Story Hour for 4s & 5s Tuesdays, March 3 & 17 1:30 p.m. Preschoolers, 4 and 5 years of age and more independent minded 3 year olds, will hear stories, enjoy music, games, finger plays and make a craft to take home.

Home School Kids' Spring Fever Friday, March 20 10:30 a.m. Home schooled kids of all ages will get ready for spring with stories, games, and planting a garden.

S.T.E.A.M. Team Thursday, March 26 6 p.m. Kids from 1st to 5th grade will learn about Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math using games, experiments, and crafts to explore each topic.

Tremendous 2s & 3s Mondays, March 9 & 23 10:30 a.m. Toddlers, 2 and 3 year old children accompanied by a caregiver, will participate in stories, finger plays, music, and a craft during this 40 minute, lap-sit class.

Family Story Hour Tuesday, March 10 & 24 6:30 p.m. Families with children from 3 to 6 years of age will enjoy stories, finger plays, music, and a craft.

Fabulous 4s & 5s Wednesdays, March 11 & 25 10:30 a.m. Children, 4 and 5 years of age, will experience stories, finger plays, music, and related activities, as well as complete a craft.

LEGO Club Wednesday, March 11 3:30 p.m. School age children (kindergarten to grade 6) will free build or build the 'challenge' project with the library's LEGO blocks. Constructions will be on display until next month's meeting. Parents of children through grade 2 should plan to assist their child. We happily accept donations of LEGO building blocks to add to our collection.

Mother Goose on the Loose Wednesdays, March 11 & 25 10:30 a.m. Infants and toddlers, birth to 23 months of age accompanied by a caregiver, will hear books, sing songs, participate in rhymes, and create finger plays in this 30 minute, lap-sit class that encourages interaction and fosters language development and motor skills.

School Age Crafters Tuesday, March 17 6 p.m. School age children, kindergarten to grade 6, will make a spring-themed craft and hear a seasonal story.

Locate Shaughnessy The Leprechaun! Monday, March 2-23 All Day Children in kindergarten through grade 5 can search for Shaughnessy in the library. Follow the 'clue' sheet to see where that little Leprechaun is hiding and receive a prize when you find him!

St. Patrick's Day Fun Wednesday, March 4 6 p.m. School age children, kindergarten and up, will hear a St. Patrick's Day story and make a St. Patrick's Day craft. Registration not required.

A St. Patrick's Day Preschool Story Hour Tuesday, March 10 1:30 p.m. Children that are 4 and 5 years of age, accompanied by a caregiver, will hear St. Patrick's day stories, sing songs, participate in finger plays, and make a St. Patrick's day rainbow mobile.

Super 'Tweens! Wednesday, March 18 6 p.m. 'Tweens, ages 9 to 13, will make container gardens. If possible, please bring a large coffee can. Snacks provided.

Family Story Time Tuesday, March 24 10:30 a.m. Families with children can enjoy a story time that includes stories, songs, and finger plays.

It's LEGO Night! Wednesday, March 25 6 p.m. School age children, kindergarten and up, will enjoy creating their own LEGO designs.

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss Thursday, March 5 4 p.m. Children in kindergarten to grade 5 are invited to celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday and all of the wonderful characters he created.

LEGO Club Monday, march 9 4 p.m. Children in kindergarten to grade 5 will have fun making their own unique LEGO structures. The only requirement is imagination!

Story Hour for 4s & 5s Tuesdays, March 10 & 24 10 a.m. Four and five year old children will hear stories, sing songs, participate in finger plays, and make crafts.

Gaming Night Wednesday, March 18 6 p.m. Children in kindergarten to grade 5 are invited to play Wii, PlayStation 2, and board games. Snacks served.

It's a Frozen Party! Saturday, March 28 1 p.m. Enjoy one last frozen hurrah before things warm up for Olaf! Children in kindergarten to grade 5 will celebrate with games, crafts, and a snack. Be prepared to meet royalty! All are welcome to dress up, too.

Winter Movie Singalong Saturday, March 28 2:15 p.m. Children of all ages can sing along to songs from a popular movie about a land where winter is brought on suddenly by a magical sister. Children under 7 must be accompanied by an adult.

Terrific 2s & 3s Mondays, March 2, 16 & 30 10:15 or 11:15 a.m. This class gives toddlers a chance to be on their own while still having a caregiver in the background. Sessions include stories, songs, rhymes, and a craft. While the children are encouraged to sit up front and participate on their own, a caregiver must attend with the child.

Mother Goose on the Loose Wednesdays, March 4 & 18 10:30 a.m. This class is designed for parents who want to learn how to play with their baby (birth to 23 months of age), while stimulating mental growth. Individual sessions include rhymes, chants, songs, stories, and activities geared toward early childhood development.

Power Paws for Reading Thursday, March 5 6 p.m. Power Paws for Kids is a unique program where children of all reading levels are matched up with a dog and a volunteer to practice reading aloud.

Fantastic 4s & 5s Tuesdays, March 10 & 24 10:30 a.m. In this class children exert their independence and attend on their own. The sessions include stories, songs, rhymes, a short film, and a craft. While these 4 and 5 year olds attend the first half on their own, they then retrieve their adult to help with the craft at the end.

LEGO Building Thursday, March 12 3-7 p.m. Young LEGO enthusiasts, kindergarten and up, are invited to stop by anytime from 3 to 7 pm for some creative building time with other kids constructing with the library's LEGO blocks.

Spring Break Movie Break Wednesday, March 25 1:30 p.m. Families can take a break, bring their own snacks, and enjoy a recently release film on the library's cinematic screen. Quvenzhané Wallis stars as a young, happy foster kid who's also tough enough to make her way on the streets of New York in this modern update of a Broadway musical classic. Rated PG, run time 118 minutes. Registration not required.
