Cancer survivors and their families enjoy sweet treats, including ice cream, cookies, candies and other delights, at a third-annual National Cancer Survivor Day program, sponsored by Franciscan Health Woodland Cancer Care Center in Michigan City, June 7. Approximately 100 people were on hand for the ice cream social, which also included music, refreshments, camaraderie and a photo booth.
The event took place at the Stardust Event Center at Blue Chip Casino. Woodland director Aundrea Siebert gave opening remarks during which she praised those on hand for their courageous battles against the disease and offered continued encouragement.
