The Crown Point Police Department is pleased to announce the return of its Youth Summer Camp.
This year’s camp will be held from 10 a.m. to noon, Monday, July 10, through Wednesday, July 12, under the Franciscan Health Pavilion at Bulldog Park, 183 S. West St.
Camp participants must be 6-10 years old and live within City of Crown Point limits. There is not a registration fee. Snacks will be provided.
Participants will learn about the responsibilities of a police officer, how police officers stop crime through investigations and bicycle safety. Participants also will discuss bullying and learn about fire prevention at Crown Point Fire Rescue.
On the last day of camp, participants will need their bicycles for a safety demonstration. Lunch will be provided on the last day of camp.
“We’re excited to see the Youth Camp return this summer,” Crown Point Police Chief Ryan S. Patrick said. “This camp gives our young community members an opportunity to connect with our officers outside of the classroom.”
Registration is now open and available online at www.crownpoint.in.gov. The deadline to sign up is Monday, June 26.
