Crown Point High School Art Department Students Honored in 2016

crown-point-bulldogs-logoThe Academy of Art sponsors a nationwide scholarship competition for art students. Students are given the whole day at the Academy to complete a figure drawing and a still life composition. Two Crown Point High School AP Studio Art students received scholarships from the Academy of Art. Alexandra Baloski was the top winner and received a full years tuition, which is approximately $40,000.00 per/year. Vanessa Garcia won an $8,000.00 scholarship from the Academy. Each year the Academy of Art updates their college presentation with the new scholarship winners and their high school. Next year when they present to schools across the country, Crown Point High School will be listed and mentioned twice as award winners.

On another Art note, several Crown Point High School Art students were selected to showcase their artwork at the 2016 Indiana University Northwest High School Biennial Art Show that was held at the Gallery for Contemporary Art February 24 through March 11. Congratulations to these talented art students; Lily Sharp, Alexandra Baloski, Marisa Malott and Arron Ragan.
