Crown Point High School Academic Superbowl Teams Finish Strong at 2015 State Competition

CPHS-Academic-Superbowl-Team-2015After already wining the DAC Academic Superbowl Championship in March, last Saturday, May 9th, Crown Point High School Students Academic Superbowl team students and the team sponsor, Mr. Jason McGee, went to Purdue University in West Lafayette to compete at the State Academic Superbowl competition. To qualify for the state competition, you must be one of the top 7 of 300 division 1 teams competing in the preliminaries.

This is the first year that a team of CPHS students qualified for State in the Fine Arts category. Not only did they make it to State, they were the State Runner-Up (2nd Place). Students making up the Fine Arts Team are Susie Szymanski, Eric Kim and Emily Fender. The CPHS science team had the exact same score at the state runner-up (2nd place), but was awarded 3rd place based on a series of tiebreakers. The CPHS science team students are John Sakaleros, Joey Krampen, Saym Imtiaz and Justin Waran.
