The Chesterton Math Team, composed of seventh and eighth grade students from Chesterton Middle School and sixth grade students from Liberty (LIS) and Westchester Intermediate (WIS), competed in the Ben Franklin Math Competition on Thursday and earned first place in 6th, 7th and 8th grade. Chesterton was named grand champions of the tournament.
The six schools competing were Chesterton, Ben Franklin, Crown Point Taft, Crown Point Col. Wheeler, Thomas Jefferson, and St. Paul. The seventh grade had 7 teams which included Willowcreek of Portage/
