Celebrating National Pizza Month With Five Local Pizza Joints

October is National Pizza Month, and what better way to celebrate than to highlight some of our favorite local places to grab a slice (or a whole pie!).

Check out Stop 50 Wood Fired Pizzeria in Michiana Shores for fresh, authentic Naples-style pizza featuring local ingredients. With house-made gelato for dessert, Stop 50 is perfect for the whole family. Be sure to take a peek into the 900 degree pizza oven while you’re there!

In Valparaiso, check out Tomato Bar Pizza Bakery – a family-owned place with three locations in the area and a great menu full of appetizers, pizzas and even calzones. Visitors rave about their craft beer menu and the freshness of the pizzas, down to the house-made crust.

Family-owned since 1979, T’s Pizza & Family Restaurant in Hobart has “old-school American & Italian standards,” with a menu that even the pickiest eaters will enjoy. Create your own pizza, or pick from their specialty menu with features like the Pierogi Pizza and Kitchen Sink. Not in the mood for pizza? Check out their Broaster Chicken Dinner!

AJ’s Pizza Co. in Chesterton is more than just pizza – try their wings, salads, and mac and cheese, too! Their pizza menu features thin crust and what they call “stuffed,” which is when the pizza is covered like a pie! Try their Italian Beef or House Special pizzas for a delicious, well-rounded slice.

Last but certainly not least, check out Uncle Menny’s Pizzeria in Valparaiso. Customers rave about the Knotz – and with so many options, we can see why! House-made Knotz are topped with garlic, parmesan, herbs, or even sweet options like cinnamon & sugar or caramel. Their pizza menu is packed with options, including a Bruschetta pizza and even one called Kansas City Shuffle, topped with BBQ sauce.

Wherever you choose to spend National Pizza Month, we hope you enjoy it, and save a slice for us!
