Northwest Health – Porter recently honored Danielle Doud, BSN, RN, with the Daisy Award for exceptional nursing.
Doud, an emergency department nurse, was nominated by a patient who brought her son to the Northwest Health ER after he had a seizure at school. She wrote that it was the worst day of her life and Danielle was her lifeline.
She went on to share that while at the hospital Danielle not only took care of her son, but herself, husband and family as well during this very worrisome time. She wrote, “I wish I could put into words just how much she did for us! She’s our favorite ER nurse turned friend! Porter is lucky to have Danielle!”
The Daisy Award was established to celebrate the extraordinary compassion that nurses provide their patients and families every day. They can be nominated by team members, patients and visitors.
