#1StudentNWI: April Ends, May Begins at Hammond High School

1StudentNWI2015HHS1For the ending of April and beginning of May, HHS has been pretty busy! With the well-organized 5K down by JROTC and “All that Glitters” Prom bringing back HHS to the 1920’s.

On April 25th the JROTC hosted a 5K to participate in an event around the world that took place in other JROTC, HHS JROTC was able to organize the run and get many cadets and community members to participate along them HHS students as well, it was pouring rain but the dedication was present and the WILDCAT spirit took place.

From the start of last year the Class of 2016 had been very busy in the production of prom, it was well worth the busy days to see the whole production to come to a final showing, seeing the Juniors and Seniors enjoy themselves.

1StudentNWI2015HHS2The dance floor was filled, the photo booth was ticking and then came along probably the best dressed people in the room, bringing a smile to those around them.

Two HHS staff members, Mr.Borsits (in orange) and Mr.Glassford (in blue) dressed as the stars of the hilarious movie “Dumb and Dumber.” With only about three Fridays counting down, there will be the final goodbye to the Class of 2015. I would like to take the time to praise the graduating seniors and commend them on all of their hard work.

Seniors: Feel proud, you have earned it. Good luck on the road ahead of you, your journey is not yet over.
