The second annual Earthtones Conference at Valparaiso University is March 23, 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. This interdisciplinary event is intended to bring together like-minded students, professors, professionals and community members to discuss a wide variety of environmental topics.

Register for just the training program or training program + race entry to Crossroads of NWI Regional Half Marathon ($60), training team t-shirt, private facebook group, 12-week training program led by certified running coach, Nikki Huber and weekly group long runs on Saturdays at 8am.

March 24th - La Porte County Small Animal Shelter Fund Raiser Coffee & Canvas

This fund raiser to benefit the La Porte County Small Animal Shelter is hosted by Andie-Renner Miller & Ella Miller. To honor of our furry friends we are going to add some cats & dogs underneath this spring inspired wisteria tree. Can't you just see them sitting there?
$30 per painter preregistration is required, 50% of ticket sales and 10% of all beverage sales will be donated to the La Porte County Small Animal Shelter.
March 22nd - Artist's Narrative Exhibit
Indiana Welcome Center - Hammond, IN
The Area Artists Association (AAA) of the Lubeznik Center for the Arts will display a collection of narrative works at the Indiana Welcome Center. The exhibition, "Artist's Narrative" will be displayed from February 16 to April 21 and will have FREE entry.
The Area Artists will feature an eclectic collection of narrative works that bespeak their diverse membership. Most works are visual and some tactile. Other works will connote human emotion directly and some subtly. Visitors to the exhibit can expect to see experimentation and find awe in a least one narrative.

Join us for a fun evening of crafting. We will cover terra cotta pots with fabric. All supplies will be provided including rocks and artificial succulents. $40 for the class. All proceeds to benefit Relay for Life of Lake County.
March 24th - Beginner Bird Drawing & Painting Workshop
Indiana Dunes State Park - Chesterton, IN
As part of the 2019 Arts in the Parks series, Indiana Dunes State Park visitors are invited to attend a series of Beginner Bird Drawing and Painting workshops with local bird artist, Kristina Knowski, at the Dunes State Park Nature Center. This 5-hour long workshop will feature hands-on help working from the park's own mounted specimens to draw, learn, and paint some of Indiana's diverse bird life and allow visitors to create their own original bird painting. All skill levels welcome!
