June 29th - PCMGA Garden Walk 2019

Porter County Master Gardeners Association - Valparaiso, IN

Visit 8 lovely select private gardens--all in and around Valparaiso in Porter County Indiana! Your ticket booklet will give you the addresses of the gardens, which you can visit in any order you choose. Tickets may be purchased on day of Walk for $10 at Kmart Parking Lot 2801 Calumet Ave, Valparaiso, IN 46383. Master Gardeners will be on hand at each garden to answer questions and explain plantings.

June 28th - The Magic of Dry Ice with the Challenger Learning Center

Porter County Public Library System - Valparaiso, Indiana

The Challenger Learning Center of Northwest Indiana presents a LIVE and interactive science demonstration featuring the amazing magic of dry ice. Join us for this exciting and educational event!

June 28th - Fourth Friday Open Mic

Art Barn School of Art - Valparaiso, Indiana

Tim Rounds, Michigan City's Open Mic host extraordinaire, brings his talent to the Art Barn for rousing monthly performances. 
Singers, songwriters, musicians, poets and more will delight the audience with original material and covers. Discover a new performer, hear an old favorite, or try out your own material at the mic. Admission is $4 for guests, $2 for performers with lite bites and a cash bar (beer, wine & soft drinks). Performers must register in advance to secure their spot.

June 29th - Blackbird Cafe Presents: Essence of a Byrd

Flight carries personal meaning for artist and elementary art teacher Jessica Corral, whose artwork reflects a process of inner transformation that can only be experienced through grace. She's been led to share her journey through visual translation of this powerful yet humble season of flight. Enjoy a reception with artist present on June 29 from 2-6pm.

A killer shark is terrorizing the vacationers at Amity Island in this adaptation of Peter Benchley's best-selling novel. Jaws dominated the box office throughout the summer of '75 and made Steven Spielberg a household name. Composer John Williams turned two ominous notes into an Academy Award-winning score. It's been over 40 years and folks still think twice about going into the water. ("You're going to need a bigger boat.")

June 29th - "Paint the Town" at Lubeznik Center for the Arts Annual ArtBash

Blue Chip Casino - Michigan City, IN

Lubeznik Center for the Arts (LCA) announces its annual ArtBash gala to be held on Saturday, June 29th with a theme of "Paint the Town." Blue Chip Casino, Hotel & Spa in Michigan City, IN will be especially dazzling that night, as guests are asked to wear brightly colored clothing and the decor will be bold and lively. 
Festivities will include dancing, a free photo booth, a silent auction and an elegant buffet with an open bar. NBC 5 Chicago News Reporter Mary Ann Bergerson Ahern is returning as emcee.

June 29th - Habitats of the Valparaiso Moraine

Pinhook Bog and Upland Trial - La Porte, Indiana

Harbor Country Hikers (HCH) will hike the Indiana Dunes National Park Pinhook Trail System which features two very different habitats. 
We will begin our adventure by hiking the Bog Trail which leads to a depression in the Valparaiso Moraine created when a large piece of ice broke off the melting glacier. As part of an National Park Service sponsored open house, rangers will be stationed along the trail to help us understand this unique place filled with carnivorous plants.

June 30th - Love Is Love 5k Run and non-competitive Walk

Bluhm County Park - Westville, Indiana

The Crazy Legs Race Series is proud to present the Love Is Love 5k Run and non-competitive Walk. It will be held at beautiful Bluhm County Park in Westville, IN on June 30th beginning 8:00 am. The 5k run/walk will be on the pavement bike trail across the street from the shelter located in the park.
