Indiana State Police to Host International Police Work Dog Association National Conference

Indiana-State-Police-logoThe Indiana State Police K-9 Division will be hosting the International Police Work Dog Association (IPWDA) National Conference from October 27 through October 31, 2014, at the Muscatatuck Urban Training Center in Jennings County.

This annual training is one of the most comprehensive and thorough K-9 training sessions in the nation. Handlers and K-9s from 16 states and two Canadian provinces will be in attendance. During this weeklong event, police work dog teams will participate in search and rescue, utility, explosive, drug, and scenario based training, with certifications to be completed daily.

IPWDA was first formed in 1998 and has since grown to nearly 800 members.

A VIP/Media day has been scheduled for Wednesday, October 29, to begin at 10:00 A.M.
