Bickford Assisted Living and Memory Care of Crown Point was ready to ring in the New Year with style! The senior care facility, located at 140 east 107th Avenue in Crown Point hosted the 2014 New Year’s Eve celebration today beginning at 11:30 a.m. for all residents.
Residents gathered early in the afternoon to enjoy relaxing games and conversation before a New Year’s count down at 12-noon, followed by a holiday luncheon.
What is so special about Bickford? According to Marnie Wegg, “Happiness.” Wegg is a member of the Bickford team.
One of Bickford’s focus for their residents is on their individual joy. They work hard to create special moments and memories for the residents so that they feel cherished and significant. Bickford hopes all residents make Bickford their own home.
“Happiness is our thing here – to enrich happiness,” Wegg stated. And that was clearly obvious among the residents. Whether they were playing dominoes, enjoying their lunch at the Bread Basket, tooting New Year’s Eve party horns, or counting down to 2014, all residents were enjoying themselves.
The afternoon was also packed full of fun activities for the residents with Trilly Walsh. The celebration began at 2:00 p.m. and involved various activities and games for all to participate in – residents and staff alike.
Bickford offers three main components for family members in need of care: home, health, and happiness. They strive to make Bickford an extension of home, provide unique and individual care for every resident, and create an environment that residents enjoy and feel a significant member of.
