If you’re in the area for the holidays, then this is not to be missed.
In 1989, Pulaski County celebrated its 150th birthday. To ensure that each community could take part in this special celebration, it was decided that each township would hold their own event, along with the already planned county happenings. At that time, the Pulaski Fest-A-Mill Committee was formed in Indian Creek Township. Their celebration, which covered two days, was called “Mill Days”, and was held in June. That following fall, the group discussed continuing their existence by decorating the town for Christmas. Following Thanksgiving, a tree was put up near the old mill site and decorated by the committee. The the committee’s delight, it was well accepted.
The next year, with the help of funds raised through “Mill Days” and donations from community friends and neighbors, the town decorations grew. Today, visitors to the tiny, country village can enjoy seeing a large variety of displays, ranging from the typical Christmas scenes, to more modern lighted displays depicting whales, water sculptures, etc. Displays are lit from 6:00p.m. to 10:00p.m. each night. Pulaski invites everyone to come and share their labor of love, drive though the small town and return home with a warm feeling of fellowship and peace, shared by all who made “A Gift to Brighten Your Christmas” possible.
