National Hospitals Week was celebrated this week by hospitals nationwide, honoring the hospital employees and the consistently incredible work that they do. Porter Health System honored its employees with an Associates Awards Banquet, organized by the hospital’s Human Resources director Angie Hampton, at Strongbow Inn on May 16th.
After enjoying a warm, buffet style dinner with drinks and dessert, the hospital’s employees listened to their CEO, Jonathan Nalli, announce the employees celebrating five-year increments. He also added a comedic background of the years when the celebrated employees began their work with Porter, talking about Super Bowl winners, presidents, and advances in medical technology. Porter’s longest-working employee, from the Payroll Department, enjoyed immense applause and hooting as she was called up to celebrate her 45 years working in the Porter Health System. “Their loyalty and dedication to Porter after so many years is just outstanding. They deserve tonight’s celebration,” said Debby Rudovich, a greeter and employee of the hospital’s Human Resources Department.
“This event has grown to become a wonderful, energetic party and celebration of tenure and longevity and experience. It’s something that allows us to just show these people our appreciation. They dedicate their lives to Porter. How often is it that you know people who have worked for an organization for thirty, forty, fifty years? It’s a wonderful, wonderful thing and it’s a great night for everyone,” said Nalli, amidst the flood of New Years Eve-like celebratory sounds throughout the banquet hall.
This year, the banquet had a record number of attendees, which required organizers to fit over 400 seats in the hall, all celebrating the loyalty and hard work of the Porter Health System family.
