The candidates are:
Gretta Burke is studying in the CHS International Baccalaureate program. She is active in Debate, Advanced Orchestra and Girls Tennis. In addition, she gives tennis lessons and tutors students of all ages. She will be escorted at the game by her parents Sean and Linda Burke.
Olyvia Clark is active on the CHS Dance Team. She will be escorted at the game by her parents Wade and Nicole Clark.
Clayton Dye is currently studying automotive tech at the Porter County Career Center. He will be escorted at the game by his parents Susan and Tracy Dye.
Mark Jewison is active in Debate, Speech and Varsity Tennis. He is currently serving as a CHS student intern at Smith Legal Group. He will be escorted at the game by his parents Tom and Mary Jewison.
Dylan Reed Leavitt is a four-year member of Chesterton High School’s Speech and Debate team, qualifying for the National Speech and Debate Tournament for two years in a row. In addition to Speech and Debate, she is also heavily involved with music, having participated in Orchestra from 5th grade up until now, performing in CHS’ annual school musical, and performing at open mics locally and in Three Oaks, Michigan. She aspires to pursue a career in professional songwriting and sound engineering. She will be escorted at the game by her mother Deborah Leavitt and uncle Michael Willey.
Luke Stento is active in CHS Football, Wrestling, Track, and Lacrosse and is a member of National Honor Society. Outside of school he is involved in Boy Scouts. He will be escorted at the game by his parents Bernie and Kim Stento.
Aidan Torres is active in Chesterton Wrestling. He will be escorted at the game by his parents Leelo and Jennifer Torres.
Serena Workman is active on the CHS Dance Team. She will be escorted at the game by her parents Dee and PJ Workman.
The CHS homecoming royalty will be chosen on Friday, Sept. 10 at halftime at the homecoming football game against LaPorte that begins at 7 p.m. Prior to the game, the homecoming parade will begin at 4 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 10 from the Chesterton Middle School Pool parking lot, Porter Ave to Calumet, Calumet to Broadway, Broadway to Sixth and back to CMS.
