Varsity volleyball standouts Christina and Jenna Dal Santo were named to the 2017 MaxPreps Small Schools All-American Second Team. High school players from across the country make up the first and second-team. Four players from Indiana, which account for the most represented by any state, were selected.
Christina served for 118 aces, recorded 673 digs for a 6.0 per set average and returned 622 serves for a 5.5 average. Against Hammond Bishop Noll, she finished with 22 digs and 36 serve receptions en route to a 3-1 win.
Jenna totaled 569 kills (5.0 per set), 74 aces, 41 blocks, and 217 digs. She was named the MaxPreps Player of the week on Oct. 30, 2017, based on her stellar team play.
“Once I found out, I was so shocked and I couldn't believe that my sister and I made the All-American team,” Jenna Dal Santo said. “It was so exciting. Christina and I are just thankful for the amazing team we had because we couldn't have earned this achievement without them and our coaches.”
The Dal Santo sisters led Andrean High School to a 30-8 record and its first volleyball state championship.
