A CT Lung Cancer Screening Could Save Your Life

By: Porter Regional Hospital Last Updated: February 17, 2014

CT-Lung-Cancer-ScreeningDid you know that lung cancer is the number one cause of cancer-related deaths in the United States? It is responsible for more deaths annually than breast, prostate and colorectal cancers combined.* Yet, according to research, early detection increases a person’s chance of survival.

The Cancer Care Center of Porter Regional Hospital has launched a CT lung cancer screening program to promote the early detection of lung cancer.

If you meet the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) criteria, you are eligible for a CT lung cancer screening at Porter Regional Hospital. CT scans are easy and painless and may help detect lung cancer at an early stage, when it is most treatable.

NCCN criteria

High-risk Category 1
(no physician referral required)

High-risk Category 2
(physician referral required)

Call 219-983-8399 to schedule a CT lung cancer screening or visit porterhealth.com/lungscreening to learn more. Cost is $75 required at time of service.
