Great Lakes Orthopedic & Sports Medicine gives back to their patients and staff
Great Lakes Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, P.C. opened their doors Friday to host their customer and staff appreciation event.
Family, friends, and even former patients received a warm welcome and were provided with food, drinks, sweets, and the chance to have a good time. One of many events held by Great Lakes Orthopedic throughout the year, the team always wants to make sure all of the staff and patients feel appreciated.
“We do events like this for the patients, as we are all about the patient,” said Cindy Whiteside, practice manager. “We want them to feel like they are a family member here, and that’s why we put this [event] together, so we can give back to them.”
The idea came from founder and CEO of Great Lakes Orthopedic & Sports Medicine, Keith Pitchford and his cofounder and wife, Shelley Pitchford, as a way to give back to their patients and the rest of the community. All week they have had different themes for their staff, including a dress-down day and a sports-themed day.
“We always like to give back to the community and we wanted to do something directly for the patients and the staff,” Keith said. “We want them to know that we are here for them and that we appreciate all of their work.”
Many current and former patients spoke very highly of Pitchford and other staff members, saying the care they receive always leaves them feeling better and that they wouldn’t want to go anywhere else.
“I think [the gathering] is wonderful. It brings everyone together and you can see all of the people that he has helped,” said Paulette Young, a recent patient of Great Lakes. “The staff is also wonderful, they hear what you are saying and actually listen and make you feel like they really care. They are all truly great people.”
Great Lakes Orthopedics & Sports Medicine appreciates the community’s support.
“We want to thank the community for its continued support,” Shelley said. “Without them, we wouldn’t be what we are. It is truly a blessing to work with everyone here.”
