SYMPOSIUM TO EDUCATE ON ADVANCES IN TREATMENT OF PARKINSON’S DISEASE, MOVEMENT DISORDERS
Community Healthcare System will host its first annual Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders symposium from 3:30 to 7:30 pm, Wednesday, Sept. 11, at the Center for Visual and Performing Arts, 1040 N. Ridge Road in Munster. The symposium will feature presentations by fellowship-trained neurologists, neurosurgeons and other healthcare professionals involved in bringing new treatments and therapies to patients across Northwest Indiana.
The Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders program at Community Healthcare System uses a multidisciplinary approach to treating this growing patient population. Combining the expertise of specially trained medical professionals with support from therapy and social services, the program offers the latest in treatment and therapeutic options, aimed at restoring quality of life.
The Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders symposium will kick off at 3:30 pm with a vendor fair. Physician presentations begin at 5 pm and feature Neurologist Andrea DeLeo, DO, Gastroenterologist Gene Chang, MD, Neurosurgeon Wayel Kaakaji, MD, and Physical Therapist Samantha Paige. The presentations will be moderated by Neurologist Leslie Wilbanks, MD.
