BOYS BASKETBALL Valparaiso VS. Hammond Central 2023

The Hammond Wolves were victorious in a closely fought game on Viking home court. With the Vikings leading at the half 25-23, the Wolves secured the 64-59 victory. Lead scorers for the wolves were Vynce Overshawn with 15 points, Matt King with 14 points, and Davian Doty and Amuari Moore with 10 points each. Viking lead scorers were Jack Smiley and Mason Jones with 16 points each, and Derrick Brooks and Caden Crowell with 10 points each. The Vikings still had reason to celebrate with senior night celebrations. A special congratulations to Jack Smiley who broke the school record. His 16 points this game put him at 371 points for his sophomore year. This breaks the school record set in 1980 by Roger Harden.
