3A GIRLS SOCCER SECTIONAL Munster VS. Lake Central 2023
Published: October 7, 2023Tonight the Munster Mustangs faced off against the Lake Central Indians in the girls 3A sectional championship hosted at Lake Central. LC controlled the first half of tonight’s match, but the Mustangs were able to keep it scoreless heading into halftime. With 18 minutes left, the scoring would begin thanks to LC senior Olivia Enyeart who scored for the Tribe. The Mustangs continued to battle and were awarded a penalty kick with 11 minutes left. Sophomore Maya Maldonado shot high and left to score on the pk. Then with 5:50 left, Munster surrendered an own goal, and the match ended 2-1 LC. This is Lake Central girls soccer’s second consecutive sectional title and the 21st in school history.
