Valparaiso Police Department’s National Night Out

Valparaiso Police Department’s National Night Out

Event Information

This event has expired.

The Valparaiso Police Department is again participating in National Night Out, being held August 6, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. National Night out is a national event, bringing communities and police together under positive conditions, creating an exchange of ideas, and developing a partner- ship with citizens.

The Valparaiso Police is inviting community members and neighborhood groups to organize events and activities as part of the national celebration. Commander of Support Services, Sgt. Joe Hall, explained this is an opportunity to build relationships as we work together to provide safer commu- nities. Valparaiso Police Officers and civilian staff will be visiting the planned activities in a variety neighborhoods throughout the city, to show their support of the citizens. Members of the depart- ment will include K9, Bike Patrol, support staff, Patrol Division, and Investigations. National Night Out has always been a great success and we look forward to meeting with our community and be- ing a part of all the planned events in the neighborhoods, explained Chief Balon. This will be the 15th year of participation for the Valparaiso Police Department.

Start planning your activities today, as prior years have included games, ice cream socials, cook-outs, and small block parties. To register your neighborhood, or inquire about the event, contact Sgt. Joe Hall at 219-462-2135 or jhall@valpopd.com.
