Purdue University is recognized as a global leader in delivering education. We make science-based decisions based on data. Our historical data indicates that people have a much higher exam pass rate in our face-to-face ServSafe™ Certification trainings than those who take an online program. 

Join us on December 2, 2021 at the Purdue Extension - Lake County office in Crown Point, IN.

ServSafe is a food and beverage safety training and certificate program accredited by the National Restaurant Association and the Conference for Food Protection. The program was developed to educate food service workers about food safety. 


ServSafe Food Protection Manager is the highest certification awarded by ServSafe. The manager training focuses on five aspects of food service that can affect the safety of food: 

Foodborne Microorganisms and Allergens
• Personal Hygiene
• Purchasing, Receiving, and Storage
• Preparation, Cooking and Serving
• Facilities, cleaning/ Sanitation and Pest Management
The certificate is earned by passing the ServSafe Manager exam with a 75% and the certification is valid for five years.

Refund and Cancellation Policy: All cancellations are subject to a 12% registration fee + $5 processing fee. Manuals are non-refundable. NO REFUNDS will be processed after the November 23, 2021. Registrations approved after the deadline will include a $20 late fee. Any registration cancellation with a purchase of a manual and answer sheet (online or paper) will be reduced $85 plus the 12% registration fee and the $5.00 processing fee. 

Manuals will NOT be shipped until payment is received. This includes check payments; checks should be mailed immediately following registration. Manuals are generally shipped within 48 hours of registration/receipt of payment. Delivery times may vary. 

Transfer Policy:  If a registrant needs to transfer a registration to a different date, contact the Purdue Extension - Education Store -- edustore@purdue.edu -- at least 5 business days prior to the scheduled event. The registrant will incur a 12% transfer fee plus $5.00 processing fee.  Any transfer requests made after the original class/exam date must be scheduled within 5 business days after the original class/exam date.  No refunds or transfers will be issued after this 5-day period.

No-Show Policy:  If a registrant does not show up to the training/exam, The Education Store must be notified within 5 business days after the training/exam date.  If the registrant does not reschedule and transfer to another training session/exam date within those 5 business days, the registration will be forfeited, and no refund of any type will be given. Transferring sessions will be allowed only once. Contact the Education Store to complete the transfer.  The registrant will incur a 12% registration fee plus $5.00 processing fee.
