Merrillville schools schedule kindergarten registration days

Event Information

Ross Township parents with children who will be 5 years old by Aug. 1, are encouraged to register their children for kindergarten for the 2020-21 school year from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, at Iddings Elementary School, 7249 Van Buren St.

Parents must register at Iddings on these dates, regardless of which schools their children will ultimately attend.

At these events, parents will have the opportunity to learn about their kindergarteners’ daily schedules and activities; talk with school nurses and representatives from food services, media services, and the transportation department; discover how to engage with the PTO; gather information from Head Start and area businesses; connect with the Adventure Club (before and after-school care); and enjoy fun activities with their children.

Parents should bring their children and necessary documentation to these events including: driver’s license or state ID; copy of their most recent utility bill; copy of lease, mortgage statement or deed; children’s immunization record; and children’s State Board of Health birth certificate.
