“Chip In” for Needy Neighbors While Having Fun on September 12

Event Information

7:30pm - 7:30pm

A single mom with two teenage girls, Sandi met with the counselor at one of The Salvation Army’s Lake County Community Centers. Sandi’s chronic health problems, and the high cost of her prescription medications had caused Sandi to get behind in paying her bills. Her counselor introduced Sandi to The Salvation Army’s Pathway of Hope program, which assisted her with paying utility bills and provided groceries for her family, while Sandi attended weekly meetings with her counselor, who helped Sandi to set goals, create a household budget, write a resume, and more. One of Sandi’s goals was to complete an entrepreneurial certification course she had enrolled in at Ivy Tech Community College. Another goal was to use her education to help others to start and develop nonprofit organizations. Sandi has since graduated from Ivy Tech and earned her certification! The future is looking much brighter for Sandi and her daughters!

Stories like Sandi’s occur time and again at the three Community Centers of The Salvation Army Lake County. In 2018, an average of 1,420 people a month visited one of the Community Centers. Whether to participate in youth programs, receive groceries and hot meals, homelessness prevention services, or get a fresh start on a new life like Sandi, The Salvation Army is “Doing the Most Good” in Lake County.

Thursday, September 12, 2019 at White Hawk Country Club in Crown Point, Indiana, you can “Do the Most Good” for needy families in Lake County by participating in The Salvation Army’s “Chip In” Golf Outing.
