SCHERERVILLE, IN – To help struggling single parents and families overcome some of the financial throes that come with running a home and raising kids, Faith Church Schererville is holding a FREE garage sale on Saturday, April 25, 2020 from 8am-Noon. Single parents with children under the age of 25 are invited to arrive at 8am for a half hour of FREE shopping before the doors officially are open to the general public beginning at 8:30am.
“We totally understand how expensive it is to raise a family these days, especially for single parents who don’t know where to turn to find help for their basic needs,” said event organizer Pat Vanderbilt. “Our free garage sale, now in its fifth year at Faith Schererville, will have 85 tables filled with baby items, bikes, books, clothing for all ages, home decor, kitchenware, games, seasonal items, shoes and toys. And people can’t believe it, but everything is absolutely FREE. We don’t accept any monetary donations.”
Vanderbilt said that Faith Church’s mission is to “transform the world one relationship at a time through loving people as Jesus loves them,” and that the church is at its best when it partners with the community to provide for those in need.
Faith Church is one church in six locations, including its Schererville Campus, located at 7403 Cline Ave. in the gym of Campagna Academy (near the intersection of Cline Ave. and Rt. 30.), where the FREE Garage Sale is held annually. Faith Church Schererville hosts its weekly Sunday worship service at 10am and it is marked by engaging messages and uplifting music, kid’s programming, and coffee, all housed within a casual setting where people can come as they are.
