Dia de los Muertos, “Day of the Dead” Celebration at Lake Station

Dia_de_los_Muertos_E28093_Day_of_the_Dead_c-1Neighbors' Educational Opportunities (NEO) English as a Second Language (ESL) program is partnering with the Lake Station Public Library to conduct their 2nd annual Dia de los Muertos, Day of the Dead celebration. The event is scheduled for Saturday, November 1st from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM at the Lake Station Public Library on Central Avenue in Lake Station. Guests of all ages are invited to attend this festive and joyous celebration of life with their families.

"Our ESL's Day of the Dead celebration has been designed by the teachers and students to provide cultural education through a fun, tasty, and informative experience,"said Amelia Boggess, an ESL teacher at NEO. "Everyone is looking forward to it!"

Arts and crafts, food, face painting, and entertainment are scheduled for the day's festivities. Last year's celebration was such a success, we is looking forward to an even better celebration this year. Come one; come all to join in the fun!

NEO Adult Education is the place to come if English is your second language and you want to speak, read, write, and understand English better. The school is also open to any Indiana resident who is 16 years or older and is in need of adult education services. Classes are free, but there is a one-time $20 registration fee.
