Celebrating 15 years on the southern shores of Lake Michigan, the LaPorte County Convention and Visitors Bureau welcomes back the award-winning XINSURANCE Great Lakes Grand Prix to Washington Park in Michigan City, IN.
The fun-filled Race Week offers spectators the opportunity to watch the most powerful off-shore powerboats zoom past the ever-challenging waters of Lake Michigan reaching speeds of up to 200 miles an hour. The title sponsor once again for its 2nd year is XINSURANCE.
Jack Arnett, CEO of LaPorte County CVB commented “this event puts Michigan City on the map! We are expecting a record number of boats and we are excited to be able once again to bring in thousands of visitors to our community. Please remember to use the free shuttle service to avoid parking delays into the park.”
The Block Party with free festivities on Saturday, August 3rd includes a kids zone, caricatures, face painting, and more. Also on Saturday, the Grand Prix Boat Parade runs from 6-8 pm on North Franklin Street from 9th to 4th. Meet and greet and take photos with the racers.
Free parking and shuttle to and from Washington Park are available at Blue Chip Casino Hotel & Spa.
