The Indiana University Northwest women’s soccer team fired a season-high 11 shots on goal but could not get a ball past IU Kokomo as the RedHawks fell 1-0 Wednesday evening inside the Sparta Dome.
It was the first loss of the season for IUN as the RedHawks are now 2-1-0 and they return to the field Tuesday against Saint Francis (Ind.) at 6 p.m.

Early in the second half Olivia Hansen had a pair of shots that were stopped, while Bonilla and Montes could not square up their attempts as they went wide.
Moments after those shots by the RedHawks, IUK had a corner kick in the 77th minute and squeezed the ball past Escalera for the game’s first score.
In the final moments of the contest Abbigail Cutler and Harrison got the ball into the attacking third and had looks at the net Moore, however, stymied the IUN offense and made the two saves.
Overall Hansen led the RedHawks with three shots on goal, while Harrison and Xiomara Santana each had two. Escalera, meanwhile, now has 13 saves in 15 chances for IUN in 2024.
