Westchester Saves Pennies for Patients

westchester-pennies-patientsWestchester Intermediate School participated in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's annual Pennies for Patients campaign.

Working in teams made up of a fifth and a sixth grade homeroom classes, the students collected $1,909.64. Students were encouraged to collect and bring in spare change to help support research and treatments for children with Leukemia. Although they did not reach their hefty goal of $2,500, they did work diligently up until the last few minutes with nearly $300 in online donations in the last 12 hours!
