Bookmarks at the Museum presents Secrets of the Lighthouse
Join Linda Wells for Bookmarks at the Museum on Thursday, November 20, at 2 pm at the Westchester Township History Museum, 700 W. Porter Avenue, Chesterton. Wells will review Secrets of the Lighthouse. Refreshments will be served.

With her new novel Secrets of the Lighthouse, English author Santa Montefiore presents a hauntingly romantic novel in which a young woman goes in search of her family’s past and ends up discovering her future.

Ellen Trawton flees London, her job, her fiancé, and her mother for the wild Connemara coast in Ireland. There, her imagination is captured by the ruins of a lighthouse where a young mother died. The ghost of the young wife, Caitlin, haunts the nearby castle. Unable to move on, Caitlin watches her husband and children, hoping they might see her and feel her love once more.

The ruggedly beautiful Connemara coastline with its tightknit community of unforgettable characters provides the backdrop for this poignant story of two women seeking the peace and love they desperately need. For each, the key will be found in the secrets of the past, illuminated by the lighthouse.

Bookmarks takes place on the third Thursday of the month at the museum and, for this month only, on the second Friday of the month at Michigan City Public Library, 100 E. 4th St., Michigan City.

It is not necessary to read the book before attending. Books are available at both Thomas and Hageman Libraries.

The museum, a free cultural and educational service of Westchester Public Library, is open to the public Wednesday-Sunday from 1-5 p.m. or by appointment. Call 983-9715 for more information.

A beautiful, pure-hearted young woman, Maleficent has an idyllic life growing up in a peaceable forest kingdom, until one day an invading army threatens the harmony of the land. Bent on revenge, Maleficent faces a battle with the invading king’s successor and, as a result, places a curse upon his newborn infant Aurora. As the child grows, Maleficent realizes that Aurora holds the key to peace in the kingdom – and perhaps to Maleficent’s true happiness as well.
