VNA to present “Death Isn’t Failure”

There comes a point in many healthcare professional’s career when they must break the difficult news to patients and families that there are no more medical options available to help prolong a patient’s life.  “How do I tell my patient, a husband and father of two young boys that even the most aggressive treatment is not working, only making him worse?” How that heartbreaking information is relayed will impact the patient and his loved ones forever. 

VNA of NWI understands the difficulty of holding these conversations and will host a free educational presentation over dinner for medical professionals and others in the community who are interested in learning more.  Please join the VNA of NWI as Dr. Arjun Gupta presents “Death Isn’t Failure: When and How to Talk Hospice at Sand Creek Country Club on Thursday August 22, 2019 at 6:00 pm. Dr. Arjun Gupta practices General Surgery with Porter Healthcare Systems and has forty-eight years of medical experience.  During his medical career, Dr. Gupta spent several years serving as a hospice medical director.  He received his degree from Medical College and Hospitals, India and served his residency at Columbus-Cuneo Northwest and Northwest.
