Visclosky Announces over $5.7 Million to Gary/Chicago International Airport

Congressman-Visclosky-HeadshotCongressman Pete Visclosky announced today that the Gary/Chicago International Airport (GCA) will receive two grants totaling $5,744,597 from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The FAA funding will support the completion of the runway extension project and for other structural upgrades at the airport.

“Economic infrastructure investments create jobs and, as a result, will strengthen our local economy,” said Visclosky. “The Gary/Chicago International Airport is an integral part of Northwest Indiana’s transportation network. I share in Mayor Karen Freeman-Wilson’s commitment to ensuring that this valuable economic asset truly benefits all of Northwest Indiana now and in the future.”
