Visclosky Announces Award for Hebron Volunteer Fire Department

state-flag-indianaCongressman Pete Visclosky announced that the Hebron Volunteer Fire Department received a $15,262 grant under the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) program.

“The Hebron Fire Department has stretched its resources to the limit. This funding is going to help us upgrade our building in order to better assist the people we protect,” Hebron Fire Chief Chad Franzman said.

“We would like to thank Congressman Pete Visclosky for securing this grant. These improvements to our fire station are much needed. In building this addition, we will be able to partner with Porter Regional Hospital to obtain a second ambulance in the South Porter County area,” Hebron Town Council President Don Ensign said.

“It is imperative that our first responders have the tools necessary, including proper facilities, to safely respond to fires and emergencies of all types. I thank the Hebron Volunteer Fire Department and the public officials in the Town of Hebron for their diligent work in securing this grant,” Congressman Visclosky said.
