Valpo Next is a moderated effort by Planning NEXT, a third party research facilitator, to mine the citizens of Valparaiso for the issues most important to them to incorporate into a new “vision” for the city over the next couple of decades.
I went to the first session Monday night and it was heartening to hear that diversity, the investment in our children and other core ideals are being voiced so much by Valpo residents.
The Mayor and City Council are sponsoring this effort and it is interesting to see who turns out. I think this is truly important in terms of the future of Valparaiso.
