Valparaiso to Host Neighborhood Workshop

Valparaiso to Host Neighborhood Workshop

To promote neighborhood engagement, the City of Valparaiso is hosting a Neighborhood Workshop on Tuesday, January 30, 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm at Valparaiso City Hall, 166 Lincolnway. Neighborhood Workshops provide an opportunity for neighborhood representatives to connect, learn from each other and become more familiar with available neighborhood services. The January agenda includes a welcome from Mayor Jon Costas, ways to promote engagement in your neighborhood, information about Neighborhood Improvement Grants and an introduction to the Lead-Safe inventory project to be launched by Valparaiso City Services.

Neighborhood groups, including homeowners’ associations, neighborhood associations or newly forming groups are encouraged to send representatives to the workshop. “We host these workshops to help neighbors network with each other and with other neighborhoods, sharing good ideas and connecting people with services and resources,” said Maggie Clifton, Valpo’s Director of Community Engagement. The full agenda is available on the Community Engagement page at Valpo.us.

To participate in the Neighborhood Workshop, please RSVP by contacting Maggie Clifton at City Hall (219) 462-1161, mclifton@valpo.us. RSVP is requested to ensure materials and space for all participants.
