USA Football/MinuteClinic Team Mom of the Year Contest Celebrates the Women who Make Youth Leagues Go

Woods CVS Team Mom flyerUSA Football and MinuteClinic, the walk-in medical clinic inside CVS/pharmacy, are recognizing and rewarding football team moms across the country. Nominated by their youth and high school programs, these women work behind the scenes to help with scheduling, organize parents and volunteer where needed to give all of the children the best football experience possible.

NICOLE WOODS is one of 100 finalists for the contest. The proud mother of TONY WOODS, a 6 year old at GARY STEELERS POP WARNER FOOTBALL & CHEERLEADING, she is part of an online vote at www.usafootball.com/mom that will narrow the field to 10 before a grand prize winner is announced. Finalists earn a $1,000 equipment grant from Riddell for their leagues or schools. The grand prize winner will receive, among other items, a $5,000 equipment grant.

About The Gary Steelers Pop Warner Program:
The Gary Steelers revitalized Pop Warner football and cheer under the direction of Richard Ligon and Richard Woods. Both seen Pop Warner come and go in the City of Gary. In 1995 the two formed what is now the only youth football and cheer program in Gary with four teams and 60 kids. Now in 2012 the program has grown to seven football and six cheer teams and more than 300 youth participating. More than 1500 youth have come through our program to play in High School, College and Professional sports.
