At noon on July 11, employees were bussed from the current plant to the new site 15 minutes away in Chesterton, Indiana. Following a brief lunch and words from Urschel management and local dignitaries, engraved shovels were handed out to the employees. Urschel employees gathered on a giant outlined Urschel logo on the future building location. Several aerial photographs were taken as the employees commemorated the day by being the first to delve into the construction site.
