Indiana State Police Superintendent Doug Carter has announced to promotion of Trooper Ronneal Williams to the position of Sergeant in the Employment Services Section.
Sergeant Williams is a 2008 graduate of Merrillville High School where he played football and was a track and field athlete. He went on to study criminal justice and ran track at Indiana University. He was selected, along with his twin brother Roosevelt, to the 71st Indiana State Police Academy where he graduated in March of 2012. Williams first assignment was to the Indianapolis District where he has spent five years patrolling Marion County. While on the department he has been a member of the TIP Team, a crash reconstructionist and a field training officer. Sgt. Williams is still recovering from injuries sustained when he was struck outside his patrol car earlier this year on I-865 while he helped a disabled motorists. Sgt. Williams is the son of Indiana State Police Major Jerry Williams.
In his new position Sgt. Williams will work as an Indiana State Police Recruiter, he will facilitate the hiring processes for new troopers and will conduct other administrative duties.
