Trivia Night Success Raises Awareness to the Community

Highland-Education-Foundation-Trivia-Night-2017_01Joy filled the air as the volunteers end their highly successful first annual trivia night. Trivia night took place on Saturday, April 22 at Highland Elks Lodge, located at 3120 45th Street in Highland.

Trivia night was hosted by the Highland Education Foundation. This event sold out at 120 tickets. Adults were able to enjoy a competitive and fun trivia game, while treating themselves to food, beverages, beer and wine. This event also included multiple raffles for prizes to places such as the Children’s Museum, Cooper’s Hawk Restaurant, Walt Disney World and many more.

“The best part of the event was seeing how the community at large along with educators and administrators come together to support public education,” president of the Highland Education Foundation, Judi Caddick stated.

The main objectives for this event was to raise awareness for the foundation, raise money and for people to enjoy themselves. As the night came to a close, they were able to check all three of those items off the list.

The event raised awareness and about 5,000 dollars that will be put into grants that will be awarded to teachers in the School Town of Highland for the fall semester.

Caddick said, “We can't wait to see how our creative teachers use this to have a positive impact on the education of Highland students.”

Caddick said, “We feel that the event went very well, especially since this was our first event. The board will be discussing ways to make it even bigger and better next year. A huge thank you to all who came out to participate as well as those who made donations.”
