The Griffith Special Events Committee is proud to announce that this year's Town of Griffith's 4th of July Parade theme is "HATSOFFTOAMERICA"! Hazardous Waste Disposal Program
The Lake County Solid Waste District will hold their Hazardous Waste Disposal program on Saturday, June 21st from 9:00 a.m. 2:00 p.m. at the Griffith Public Works Facility, 134 S. Colfax. The following items will be accepted: Auto & household batteries, cleaners, oil based paint, solvents, fertilizers, pesticides, poisons, oil, antifreeze, mercury and mercury containing products, gasoline, kerosene, aerosols & corrosives, small propane tanks for portable grills, expired medications and sharps (medical needles). All sharps must be placed in a rigid plastic container, such as detergent/bleach bottles. Items that are not accepted are: latex based paint, explosives, ammunition, appliances, tires, radioactive waste, asbestos or any container 30 gallons or larger.

Document Shredding Day
In conjunction with the Griffith Hazardous Waste Collection on Saturday, June 21st, the Town of Griffith will have document shredding for Griffith residents from 9:00 a.m. 2:00 p.m. at the Griffith Public Works Facility, 134 S. Colfax. Quantities will be limited to Four (4) boxes per vehicle.

Griffith Police Department Tip-Line
The Griffith Police Department with the cooperation of the Griffith Safety Board and the Griffith Town Council, have established a tip-line for The Town of Griffith. Citizens wishing to report specific suspicious or criminal activity not requiring immediate police response are encouraged to call and leave a detailed message regarding such activity. Messages left on the tip-line will be reviewed on a regular basis and appropriate action will be taken when warranted. Citizens using the tip-line may choose to remainanonymous. However, citizens who provide their name and telephone number may be contacted by the Griffith Police Department to obtain further details regarding the activity reported. If a citizen chooses to provide their contact information, they still have the right to remain anonymous.
